Welcome to summer in the South. It’s hot. Mimi, one of our female black bears, has taken to coming to visit whomever is cleaning the bear house in the morning to get sprayed down with the hose. She’s been especially cute as the temperatures have gotten hotter. Last Sunday, I managed to coordinate my cellphone and the hose well enough to get some of her morning shower on video! Yona on Ice!
With the cold weather in the past month the pool in the bear exhibit froze over. It was so frozen that the middle pool could actually hold the weight of the bears! Typically, the bears tend to avoid the snow and ice but on this particular day I guess Yona was feeling playful! I was able to capture this video of her playing on the ice!
