Lemurs get new toys, too!

With the holidays comes gifts of new toys! Thanks to a few very generous people the animals have gotten a lot of fun surprises! Christmas 2014

Prep started yesterday: find the head lamp make sure camera is working review all logbook tasks and talk to the Keepers about any questions make sure tasty food is on my desk set alarm for 5 AM I arrived on grounds around 5:15. Lemur Enrichment

I’m always looking for new and novel enrichment to give out to the animals which can sometimes be a challenge. Where are the Red Ruffed Lemurs?

If you have been to the museum lately you may have noticed the Red Ruffed Lemurs are not on exhibit. While our new Ring Tailed Lemurs are on exhibit in indoor viewing our Red Ruffed Lemurs are on vacation. By “vacation” I mean that they don’t have to come upstairs and be on exhibit. We have 5 new ring-tailed lemurs residing behind the scenes.We’ll introduce you to them over the blog in the next few weeks and you’ll be able to see them at the lemur exhibit indoor viewing area soon after that.
