Virginia Bear Update: laser and more

Readers know Virginia has extensive osteoarthritis. She receives multiple medicines and laser treatments to help. Some photos (and video) below. We’ll be doing a series of posts in December about Virginia’s recent challenges, and her trip to the NCSU Vet School for a CT scan.

Janine, right, feeds Virginia while Dr. Harrison uses the laser.
We add this safety barrier (the piece of wood Kate is holding) when we open the bar to treat Virginia’s front legs. This barrier keeps Dr. Harrison’s hands safe. Janine uses watered-down syrup while working on Virginia’s front legs, and dried fruit while working on her back legs.
