Flashback Friday

M2246 and M2247 are grown up now, however they grew up at the Museum so we have baby pics to share! Five weeks old might be my favorite age for red wolf pups. Diego Follow-Up

Winter Storm Diego hit us hard. The weight of the snow caused numerous trees to snap or bend throughout campus. Fortunately, the animals seem fine; power and fences held; and the Keepers who were able to get to work did so unscathed. We still have a lot more clean up to do, but I for one am very thankful that it wasn’t worse. We had quite a bit of heavy snow — up to 12 inches in some areas.  AboutRead more

Florence Follow-up

Our storm prep paid off. We were certainly fortunate that FLORENCE turned away from Durham. Most of the days were calm, with bits of rain and wind. Animals that were moved seem to handle the changes well. All Keepers were able to get to work and as the weekend came to an end I thought we had escaped with zero issues. Eggs. Lots and Lots of Eggs to Share

Our Chickens make more eggs than we can use, so we donated them to our friends at the Duke Lemur Center and Carolina Tiger Rescue. So far this summer we’ve shared 154 eggs.
