Today is Dr. Vanderford’s birthday.  Happy Birthday Deb! It’s also the day I start to miss Kristen and her New Year’s Resolutions Blog posts. Last Week’s emails

Christmas 2014

Prep started yesterday: find the head lamp make sure camera is working review all logbook tasks and talk to the Keepers about any questions make sure tasty food is on my desk set alarm for 5 AM I arrived on grounds around 5:15. Not the best of weekends

We knew the muskrat was old, and had some issue with his mouth that was going to be looked at today, but on Friday his mouth was looking bigger and so by Saturday morning we decided to sedate him and check things out. Zoe update

Zoe Turtle has been at the vet school for many months being treated for a wound that turned out to be cancer. He’s making his way back to us to live out the rest of his life here as surgery and radiation treatments are now finished. The tumor could not be removed completely, but Zoe seems to be doing okay and we will keep him here until his quality of life diminishes.   I love that the way to keepRead more
