So, what are you doing next month…?

Hi again out there!  Okay, so this posting won’t be about any weird animals, or random things attacking anyone or anything like that (have no fear- we’ll get back to that in the next post!)  🙂  This posting is to inform you of a very worthy cause that is coming up next month that I just know you’ll want to hear about!  It’s the annual AAZK (American Association of Zookeepers) Rummage Sale, which happens right here at the museum underneath the big picnic dome on a bright sunny Sunday morning.  How do I know it will be bright and sunny?  Eternal optimism people!  🙂

You guys should keep Sunday, May the 15th clear, because it runs from 7 am to 12 pm (although you are more than free to help us clean up afterwards!)  We start early, with smiles and tons of donated goods to sell with all the proceeds going to our local Zookeepers chapter.  Which includes your lovely friends at the Durham Museum of Life and Science, the Duke Lemur Center and the Carolina Tiger Rescue.  We use these funds to keep our chapter going and also make donations to worthwhile zoological causes around the world in need.  There will be everything from books and clothes to furniture out there, so definitely something for everyone.  AND…It’s the big kickoff to Bear Awareness Week, so you can’t go wrong!  (That’s what we call a teaser kids!  Look for more on B.A.W. in a future posting!  It’s going to be great!)  🙂

Virginia says "Come Visit!"

So like I said – May 15th, 7am-12pm underneath the big picnic dome in the Museum parking lot will be an absolutely ginormous (it’s a word!) Rummage Sale benefiting our local zookeeping chapter.  Come on out, show your support, pick up a little something (or a big something), tell us what a good job at poop scooping we do 🙂 and just have a great time!  It’ll be fun!  We’re all looking forward to it!  For more information you can check the AAZK website calendar  www.ncpiedmontaazk.org –See you there!  🙂
