Pups chugging along
We’ve been hands off with the pups for a couple of weeks, but Monday was the day for their vet check. A few photos from our check are below. I’ll get the video up tomorrow. The pups were in the den. This makes everything quicker. We’re in the exhibit a shorter amount of time since we’re not searching for pups and we can access the den easily. Wolf Update
We last reported the death of the female pup. With the necropsy complete we await the test results and continue to focus on the remaining pups, and parents. F2062 has been on the move a lot- with pup (sometimes both). We decided to not only let things settle down by closing the exhibit to visitors, but also staff. Rough day yesterday… sad news to share
Friday’s pup check went great. The three pups gained a lot of weight and gave us little reason to be concerned. However, I said there was sad news. So, I’m sweating at 5:30. Last night I set out shorts and sweat pants and a sweatshirt. I know I am always hot with the heat blowing while working indoors, so I set out layers to wear today. Virginia’s treatment plan
I’ve watched Virginia, our black bear that has been at the Museum since June 2005, grow from a 15 pound cub still on a bottle to a full-grown black bear.
