Red Wolf 1287 is here!

It’s been a long day, (although I guess it technically is tomorrow) with multiple issues, but our new red wolf female, 1287, is finally here. We learned in the Summer Red Wolf SSP Master Plan meeting that we would be getting a new female wolf to pair with our male.  She was originally due to fly in (on Delta) around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon. Yona’s surgery- it’s over and she is back

Yona has now been back at the Museum for about 1.5 days now and is recovering from her surgery to remove a bone fragment in her elbow.  Read an article and see better pictures than below by the News & Observer- the photos are way better than mine (see the photo gallery for all the pictures). Lightning training update

Well it looks like our newest keeper, Sarah, has officially become Lightning’s new primary trainer! The three of us (Sarah, Lightning and I) took several walks together over the last few weeks to get her transitioned and for Lightning to learn that she is now one of his trainers.
