Yona update (and interesting photos)

Yona is doing great! She’s been back in the exhibit for three weeks.  With the exception of her hair being shorter on her right front limb all seems to be wonderful. I cringe when I see her and Gus wrestle on the cliff, but it’s great to see the two of them interacting again. Trees for the bear yard

This past Monday was the day to relocate some large trees to plant in the bear yard.  Three large trees were removed from the parking lot and transplanted into the bear yard. We’re obviously hoping that all three trees will make it, but if we get two to take that will be wonderful! The trees are really big. Yona’s surgery- it’s over and she is back

Yona has now been back at the Museum for about 1.5 days now and is recovering from her surgery to remove a bone fragment in her elbow.  Read an article and see better pictures than below by the News & Observer- the photos are way better than mine (see the photo gallery for all the pictures).
