It’s Really Hot

I mentioned I wanted to be with Mimi under the waterfall a couple weeks ago. Well, not really with her, but sitting alone under a waterfall, especially now, sounds perfect. With all the heat, the team has to do whatever we can to help the animals stay cooler. That meant buckets upon buckets of ice got passed out yesterday (and will likely again today). Check out the quick videos the team got of two of our favorite bears spending someRead more

Update from the Week.

I got some non-desk time this week. This meant, lots of clothes, bandanas and masks to sweat through. However it also meant some good times and sights to be had. I did a great virtual Summer Camp program with Steve, David, and the Farmyard Critters. I also did a bunch of weed-eating, and clearing unwanted plant growth from a few areas. Lots of help means lots of thank yous

We got the wolf pool cleaned thanks to Janine. Rob spent an hour pulling poison ivy– youRead more

Bear Pool Cleaning next month

We’ll be cleaning the bear pools the beginning of June. A little later than usual, but with the new wolf pups living next door we’re trying to be as quiet as possible until they are older and more established. I came across these two videos of what the bears do when we let them back in the yard after pool cleaning. In the first video, Yona pulls out the pool drain cover (this is what happens when you let themRead more

Virginia and Mimi called out?

I walked in to work the end of the day Saturday to prep for the coming storm and was greeted by this note on the board:   Some might be saying what do you mean two of our four bears called out for the day??   No worries, the bears are here, but two of our volunteers were unable to make it in today 🙁Read more
