We said goodbye to our beloved opossum, Chandler, Friday night. We noticed over the past week that he was not his usual self. (I.e. not interested as much in food, some “coughing”, or deep abdominal breathing, and generally having a harder time getting settled). Meet Chandler, our new opossum
Chandler was born this spring and was orphaned. His tail had to be amputated and he was not a good candidate to be returned to the wild so he is joining us here. Our staff will start using him in Education and other programs in August. Read more

Romeo in a bag!
Our newest Opossum, Romeo, is in quarantine. When ever an animal is in quarantine we still try to give them enrichment. We try to only use disposable items so we can just toss them out. I put Romeo’s food in a paper bag and was surprised to see how he got his food out! Watch below! Read more
