A whole lotta Pumpkins

Last week we were gifted with a truckload of REALLY BIG pumpkins. I’m sure the keepers will get some photos of the animals eating pumpkins this year to share. Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins

Around this time of year we get a lot of pumpkins donated to us. These unused pumpkins are given to us by some of our members or sometimes from local farms that have no use for them anymore. We will generally give these pumpkins to some of our animals for enrichment. As you can see from the pictures below, some animals like to eat them and some just like to stare at them. Around the Animal Department, October’s arrival meant only 1 thing: extra candy on the free table! It meant good things for the animals too, although we definitely don’t give them candy.
