Fecal Cup

Often times I ask the Keepers if they can retrieve fecal (poop!) samples for me to test. Usually I send them off with a small dixie cup for collection but on one particular day I hadn’t given Keeper Autumn a cup for collection so when I radioed that I needed some feces from the Ring-tailed Lemurs she made her own fecal cup!Read more

Lemur Exhibit 2.0

With the addition of our new lemurs, the lemur exhibit needed some modifications before they could go out into it. We had to “lemur proof” for young, very active and very mobile lemurs. The structure that was in the yard had weathered and needed replaced. Being one of the ETW keepers, I had many ideas on what I would like the exhibit to look like so I drew up what I wanted and handed it over to our exhibits team.Read more

And They’re Out…

… on exhibit outdoors for the first time last week: The Toledo Lemurs are outside on grass for the first time. Staff, volunteers, guests, and we assume lemurs too are excited. I don’t think it is an exaggeration to say 1,000 photos were taken, but for now, I’ll just share a few that Katy caught.            Read more

New additions… lemurs are here

We have 5 new ring-tailed lemurs residing behind the scenes.We’ll introduce you to them over the blog in the next few weeks and you’ll be able to see them at the lemur exhibit indoor viewing area soon after that.
