Pup Check Follow-up

We’re past the critical first 30-days for the pups and have made it through fairly unscathed. This doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods, but it does mean one big sigh of relief as we pass this huge benchmark. There are so many benchmarks we’ve passed already: First pup check and assuring all body parts as they should be First week getting through without any foot abrasion causing systemic infection First measured weight gain so we know mom can supportRead more

What a good dad!

Monday we shared video of M1803 in the den while mom, F2062, nursed. Two more videos of Dad’s interactions: the first, is him dropping off food (a rat) for his family. The second has Dad and a pup with some very sweet together time 🙂Read more

Yesterday’s pup check

Everybody in the den

Ok, so not everybody, but check out this video of 8 of our 10 wolves in the den. Typically, mom, F2062, allows no adult in the den when the pups are young. She’s been seen chasing dad, M1803, out of the den as he sneaks in. (Dad started engaging with last year’s pups at 3 weeks old). However, at just before 6 PM Saturday night, dad stayed in the den. Not sure if he got stuck in the den, butRead more

Pups starting to move

Museum Member Peter Nicholls got the picture above of some of the pups wandering out of the den. At three weeks old it’s time for the pups to wobble and walk a bit on their own. Check out some of their first wobbles belowRead more
